it closes with a persistence of bitter almond.
Curiosity: When it comes to Vernaccia di Oristano, one cannot avoid talking about Silvio Carta. Anchored to the tradition of Vernaccia di Oristano, Silvio Carta can be defined, in all respects, one of the most prestigious wineries in Sardinia. From the early 1950s to today, the choice of this winery has been mainly focused on the enhancement of this wine, the oldest in this area of ​​Sardinia, with its alleged healing virtues and origin
uncertain. The vine is assumed to be a variety that was formed on the island, therefore autochthonous.
Several archaeological finds, discovered in the ancient city of Tharros, near Oristano, show that Vernaccia was already being cultivated in the area. Sardinia has the territorial and climatic conditions for the spread of Vitis vinifera which certainly grew spontaneously since the most remote times. The history of Vernaccia is similar to that of the vine and viticulture and its presence is presumed from the first development of human communities on our island. Its name is not well known if it derives from Vernum: spring and therefore rebirth, or much more likely from Vernacula which means "local".
A complex, almost alchemical wine that excites and fascinates those who taste it; the perfect representative of the expression of this corner of the earth. Excellent as a dessert wine, to venture with oysters but perfect with bottarga croutons.
