In 2004 the Cantina Tondini was born with the aim of producing high quality grapes and wines. The first year of wine production is related to the 2004 harvest. The vineyard covers an area of ​​20 hectares, including 13 of Vermentino di Gallura DOCG, 3 of Moscato and 4 of Gallura's vineyards (nebbiolo, sangiovese, dolcetto , Caricagiola and cannonau). The vineyards are located in one of the world's most famous areas for the highest expression of the Vermentino vine, Gallura at an altitude of between 300 and 400 mt. S.l.m .. The vineyards are 20 years old, with southeastern exposure. The soil is of granite nature because it results from a granite disintegration. The climate, like the ground, is unique in the world with thermal excursions of up to 25 ° C (it can be in the ripening period from 30 ° C to 6 ° C per night). With this soil and with this climate, the vine Vermentino in the Gallura High is a real Terrorir vineyard. The vines are raised with a counterweight, to which a Guyot pruning system is combined. The plant density is almost 4,500 plants per hectare. In order to be able to produce quality wines, the company thinks above all to the management of the vineyard as it is convinced that a great wine will be made with large grapes and then in the cellar can only ruin what has been done with large sacrifices in the vineyard.
